i just changed out the thermostat but as i was driving to work this morning, the car started overheating again. it seems worse now because when i turned on the heater before, it would cool the engine down but that didnt help. do you suppose that the water pump is bad?

please, help me.

thanks

To my understanding, when a water pump goes, it leaks coolant everywhere, and tons of it too. You'd notice that.

First I'd check the system is bled properly. The SR20 is very sensitive to air in the cooling system. Find a good procedure from a FSM or on se-r.net and follow it.

If the correct mix of corrosion inhibitor has been consistently used in the coolant then the waterpump should be alright.
