I believe the head gasket went out. 230,000 miles on car but it still looks good inside and out. Dark red in color with center console and bucket seats.
I'm debating if I should stick any money into it with that many miles?
My garage told me it would cost at least $600.
I like this car but I'm afraid it may start to become a headache.
We probably can't offer cars for sale here but any have advice?:banghead:

Can you buy a replacement car for less than the repair will cost? If not, and you like the car, spend the money and get it fixed. Even if you buy a different car, it may have an issue ready to go that will cost more than the repair on this car on top of the purchase price. At least you know the history of this one. My suggestion is to fix it.

I have thought of that but I am unsure if there is anymore damage to the car than just the gasket. I guess I won't know for sure until someone takes it apart.
FYI- I am in N.E. Iowa.

Also if you replace the head gaskets you may cause the lower end of the engine to go out. A car with that many miles may not stand the compression from the new gaskets.
