3.2 Engine Codes?

Is there an easy way to check the engine codes on my 1993 3.2 liter?
It had been running with poor power and mpg. It needed a new harmonic ballancer and two spark plugs were black sooty so I replaced all the injectors with new rebuilt units, new plugs, wires. It will crank and idle put sputters and pops through the intake when I try to give it gas. It doesn't smell rich at the tailpipe, I tried cranking it with the 02 disconnected with no real difference. It would atleast drive before the new injectors.. what could it be?
Thanks for suggestions on what the problem may be or how to use a connector to read diagnostics. I had read a few posts mentioning grounding out a terminal for ablink code but didn;t mention where the led went into circuit at or much of anything else for that matter.
Also does the forum search work?
Thanks
Mike

Just noticed this post and thought a late reply was better than none.

On my 95 (pre OBD2) the connector is under the left kick panel (by your left foot when driving). There are 2 connectors in there (not connected to anything). The one you want is the one with 3 pins. With ignition off, connect the 2 outer connectors (1 and 3) with a paper clip. Then turn on the ignition (not start).

When you first turn on the ignition you should see one blink, a pause and then 2 quick blinks (read this as a code 12) which means you are in diagnostic mode. Then, the next code or codes will appear.

For instance, after the code 12, I had 2 blinks then 4 blinks, a code 24. On my 3.2 this indicates no input from the speed sensor according the the Haynes manual.

The codes go from code 12 (indicating you are in diagnostic mode), to code 65.

Let me know if you need the code although I think I saw a link somewhere here that has them (96 and up use a completely different set of "P" codes).

My understanding is the above instructions apply to 93-95 3.2 L engines only. For others see the Haynes manual.
