Just read some thread on using deep creep sea foam in the PVC vacuum line.

What does this accomplish?

This will clean the PCV circuit, and depending on how the PCV port is jetted into the intake, will clean right thru to the intake valves for the cylinders closest to the PCV port. The is really no way to clean inside the common chamber other than take it apart and clean it by hand. The main areas to keep clean are the PCV, EGR and around the throttle body. FWIU, deep-creep is good stuff.

I've been reading some stuff.

To clean EGR and PVC circuits, which vacuum lines are used?

I have a rodeo 3.1L V6. I'm thinking for the EGR, you remove the only vacuum line and spray into the vacuum line, how does that clean the valve?

Also, the PCV valve, do you remove the vacuum line or the valve inself from the grommet? I think my engine will stall if you remove the valve from the grommet.

I leave the PCV valve in place as that's what regulates the vacuum. Spray right thru the suction end of the PCV valve. I'm not sure of the EGR setup on the GM 3.1L. You'll need to remove the valve and clean downstream of it.

I have a 97 with a 3.2L. I usually do this about every oil change, but I take the pcv valve off and stick the hose into a cup filled with half a can of seafoam. This works great, but you will need someone inside the truck to rev the engine and keep it from stalling (as long as possible).

You will have ALOT of white smoke out of the exhaust, this is just the seafoam burning up.

Whew:

I didn't think the PCV vacuum line, would take so mush so fast, I could not even get the engine started as the sea foam was guzzed up.

Got quite a lot in there and re inserted the valve back in the head and well, she took a little while but started up.

White smoke did come from the engine side, but could not see from where.
