Hey all,

I just wanted to use this cool icon/avatar as my pic in my profile, but it is just a tad too big, so can you guys make it look good but keep it in the form regulations here at AF; which is 100x100. Thanx...here's the pic!

Here ya go... I did 2 of them, one is resized without constrained aspect ratio, so it's a little bit squashed... Pick the one you want.

Oops... That second one is supposed to be transparent on the edges, but I can't figure out why it isnt...

Thanx ci5ic, I love the one that is not squashed, but it is still 100 x 111 it won't let me use it since it is a bit bigger. Is there anyway to do your magic and help me out man? I have seen some of your work, and you do the 'shit' work. So I know you can pull off this simple task!

Yeah, sorry about that. I realized just before you posted, so I edited my previous post with the newer "unsquashed" one...

Just wanted to say thanx man!

Hey when it is my icon, it won't have aspect ratio will it?

FYI, you can have it be less than 100 pixels on a side, so you won't have to worry about transparency. One hundred pixels is just the max for either measure. :)

Aspect ratio is just the relationship between height and width... When resizing an image, preserving the aspect ratio means that although the image is smaller, the ratio of height/width will remain the same (so it doesn't look squashed).

So to answer your question, it's not something you need to worry about.

Oh, and thanks for the compliment.

Anyways, here's another one without the white borders:

Hey thanx ci5ic - But one problem here; I want this as my icon right, ok this is what I have done and it won't show up:

1. Saved your pic
2. opened up your pic in paint and saved it to a JPEG
3. uploaded the new JPEG pic onto AF server
4. copied that HTML and pasted it in the box

So why isn't my pic showimg up man?

1. Save pic (as a .gif file) on your computer.
2. go to edit options (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/member.php?s=&action=editoptions) page.
3. hit avatar button
4. upload .gif from your computer to avatar

Yes, do that.
Also, (for future reference) if you save the picture as a .jpg, it will not be animated.

Don't you have to set you're avatar to "custom"?

So there is no way of keeping it looking like this and getting rid of the white lines? I don't want it to look smushed.

No I meant that the PICTURE itself has an "X" where the pic should show up!
