I have a 94 Blazer 4.3L v6 and im trying to remove the distributor..
I was told to Bring engine to TDC on the compression stroke for #1 cylinder and align timing marks to 0~
.. that just means to make the rotor so its facing the #1 spark plug? can i move it without trying to start the car? how do i align the timing marks to 0??
Pretty much. Align the rotor to #1 sparkplug (about 7 o'clock) use a grease pen to mark the dist in relation to the manifold.

You can turn your motor by hand. Using a breaker bar, 6in extention, and a 17mm socket. In the center of the harmonic balancer / crank, you'll find a 17mm bolt. Attach the socket and breaker bar and turn your motor till you hit your timing mark. Just one more thing. It would help if you have someone helping you and watching the timing mark for you.
