4x4 won't engage....gggrrrr

1999 Ram 1500,360. I was driving in four wheel drive with no problems. Suddenly the indicator light started blinking. Blinked for about 10 seconds and then went out. A few minutes later it blinked a few more times, went out, blinked again and hasn't come back on since. The four wheel drive was still engaged during this time. I got home, put it back into 2H, everything was fine. Put it back into 4H and nothing! Tried 4L and still no good. No light, no four wheel. Any ideas as to where to start. Not sure if it's related but I've had problems with the heat and cruise control also. Wondering if the vacuum line going to the transfer case was also the same vacuum line for the cruise and heat. I haven't gotten around to doing anything with those since they aren't major inconveniences since some heat still comes out.

Thanks for any help.

my guess would be that the problem is with the vacume system. I'd start at the front axle(CAD unit) and work back from there.

Ok, got up under it and the two vacuum lines that run from the front over to the transfer case were unplugged. Problem is that only one line was hanging unhooked. I know there is supposed to be two lines plugged in. Cant find the other line and cant find where the lines are routed from since they go over the tranny. Any ideas as to how I could find a routing diagram for the vacuum lines?

Nevermind that last post. I found it. One of the lines going to the CAD was broke off just after it comes out of the transfer case.
