better gas mileageMichaela521 01-21-2006, 07:15 PM I am looking at the 2500 or the 3500 dodge ram trucks and was wonder how much better gas mileage the 2500 has over the 3500. The engine of choice will be a diesel. BleedDodge 01-21-2006, 11:40 PM Get a diesel and you won't have gas mileage at all right? The 3500 is just a truck with the heavier suspension and sometimes the dual wheels. What kind of work do you need it to do? Michaela521 01-22-2006, 01:47 AM I have a four horse horse trailer that i will be pulling it with. I also might just get the one ton because I load it alot of times with sand and/or gravel and that can get really heavy (3000 lbs). The diesel engine is inorder to pull the horse trailer. What do you think. Does the 2500 have a better fuel economy than the 3500. Prices wize is it significant at all. The 3500 does weight more than the 2500 but I don't see why this should significantly increase the cost PER mile but mayby it does. :) imtheoneandonlyD 01-22-2006, 02:32 AM weight will certainly affect your mpg. not a massive difference but its there.
