I just need some suggestions..... i RTV'D the return to turbo... but the pan im having trouble with.... i have tried atleast 5 times... and i cant get the flange to line up just perfectly ..... i can get the bolts in there but as soon as i start tightning it comes loose... i have tried putting a scissor jack to put it in place... ( car jacked of course) but its always just a little to the left or to the right gotta jack it up or lower or a combination of those... and the position im in upside down laying down i cant really hold the return to well ( its brand new and i needed to bend it to even get close) and i get so frustrated trying to move it around but i don't want to smear the RTV all over and get into the pan.....anyone got some suggestions on what to do or what you guys have done? :uhoh: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

That was definitely a fun process. I don't remember what I did exactly but I remember having the same exact problem. I used the stock 2g oil return that I filed the crap out of to get the bolts to line up with the 16G. I eventually gave up and let my dad have a hack at it. 6,402 swear words later, it eventually tightened down. It might be easier to do the pan first?

This is for TedEx's 16G for his 2g car... i was under the impression that it would bolt from my 14B to my pan.... and the turbo bolts were a pain in the ass to do..... i really don't want to do that again lol, im just trying to think of something else... i mean even if it smears a little its coming back off in a month or so for my 16G i can handle a small oil leak.... but damn... i screamed so loud because i was so close to getting them on..... and that whole 24 hour cure thing is just dandy i hate it!

Not sure what you are trying to do. Putting a 16g on a 2g using a 1g return line?

No no no no I have a 1G with a 14B but TedEx gave me his oil return from his 16G which is on his 2g..... my hands are covered with RTV.....

careful down there, those bolts strip easily, trust me i know. i had to take off the pan and tap everything. If you have the money i would highly suggest a stainless steel braided return line, no hassle

Did you take it off the turbo like i said? It will be easier to bolt to the turbo cause you have more room to work cause it's farther from the flex section. Do you know what I mean? The farther from the angle the greater the movement...you know pretty simple or most people...oh yeah it's you i forgot...jp

Sorry that was too funny... Anyways... Yeah definetly take it off the turbo, bolt it to the oil pan first and then bolt it to the turbo. It'll be so much easier... Whatever happened to that 1g oil return line that you were gonna get off ebay? I'm thinking it would have fit on there a little better.

I sent you a return line this morning, Aaron. It is oil resistant flexible line. I even sent extra line and hose clamps. I would have done it different (AN fittings and braided line), but since you were in such a hurry you got barb fittings, and plain black line. It went priority, so you should see it in 2-3 days. Hope everything works out for you, and good luck with your new job. :)
