Wheel bearing question

i have a 99 accord 5 speed and recently there has been a loud humming noise. it gets louder and softer depending on the speed and when i turn to the left sharply it goes away but i can't tell where it is coming from. i am fairly certain it is a wheel bearing, however i do now know which bearing it is. would it be the rear passanger since when i turn to the left the noise goes away? any suggestions would be appreciated.

Re: Wheel bearing question

Usually you can check wheel bearings by jacking up the car, enough to raise the tire in question in the air. Put your hands at 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock and try and move the tire back and forth. If there is play then you may have a loose axle nut or bad wheel bearings. If you put hands at 3 and 9 then you may have worn steering components....I know this is basic but hope it helps!
