Cool IWC: AF Skins

Admins, imo the new AF looks dam sexy. much cleaner and etc etc.
on one of the threads discussing the new AF, i had an idea that maybe it'd be a good thing to keep the old AF scheme as well, for those who don't like the new one, and be able to choose the layout, much like a skin. So, i'm starting this poll to see if anyone else would like the idea of being able to skin your AF, either keeping the old AF, new AF, or even some other skins the admins may make up.

Re: IWC: AF Skins

Not sure if it's really possible to customize like that for every person, but it sounds like a good idea. I know a lot of people are not liking the new look, so this would solve the problem.

Re: IWC: AF Skins

another forum i visit for audio has that, simple color scheme choice, either white, or blue. then another forum for cg art lets you have different skins, buttons, color, text, the whole shenannigan.

Since we all have to log in and it already remembers what order each person views their threads, then I don't see why they can't have customizable skinning. Excite.com uses custom skinning for each member.

Re: IWC: AF Skins

I was thinking about this too. Not to rank on the improvements, which I'm sure everyone appreciates the intentions of, but a white background with black lettering has been proven to strain your eyes and be more uncomfortable than other color schemes. And also it's just like every other forum.

Regardless to if they do the skinning or not, we still need a new server. This current one is beyond struggling to keep up with all the traffic that AF receives everyday. And, if they are to upgrade the server anyways, they might as well upgrade to one that could handle all the possibilities of custom skinning and other future upgrades. Because I donno about everyone else, but I'm running on DSL and AF is one of the slowest loading sites on the internet for me... Maybe if they run their gallery and forums on two seperate servers it would take a huge load of bandwidth off the forums and make them faster again?
