Exhaust

Im wanting to put a dual exhaust on my r/t. I dont really care if its a "true" dual exhaust because I really just want the look. I really want a deep sound (no fart can) but I dont want it to be all that loud in the cab. If anyone has any suggestions or a favorite exhaust system that would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Exhaust

What year is it? The Vibrant and pacesetter exhausts are fairly good. I have the pacesetter exhaust and I like the way it sounds and looks. Some people up north have problems with them rusting because of the salty roads. Another popular idea is to buy the Dynomax 2.5" piping and putting a Flowmater 50 Series muffler on there...sounds good and looks nice also. You could also get a muffler from a 2002 and up Neon R/T, it has the dual tip look.

Re: Exhaust

Is is a '97 model or R/T, it can't be both b/c the R/T didn't come out until '98. '98 and '99 is the only year the R/T was offered in the 1st Gen Neon.

If you want a different sound, you can change the muffler, if you want more HP, you won't get any more than 2 or 3, the original exhaust on the DOHC models is good to start with. If you have a SOHC, you can pick up 5 to 7hp by switching to the DOHC muffler.

That's the Flowmaster 50 series muffler I was talking about.

I think it's more like 2-3 HP. 7HP for $20 wouldn't be bad though.
