I would go no bigger then the 16''. If you go to big, you will start to rub. What size do you have now? Why do you want go bigger?

I've heard you can do 18s on a grand prix (gt or gtp) without problems, but don't know if it applies to a se. Any bigger than 18" and you will probably run into costly suspension problems. Plus one thing you have to keep in mind, bigger is not always better - it applies differently to different vehicles. 18s may not look like much on an Escalade, but on a GP they will seem huge.
By modding it up, do you mean pimp it up or speed it up. If it's speed, there's not a whole lot of power that can be cheaply added to the 3100, so if you're looking for performance it would be easier to pick up a gt or gtp. Can't help much on the pimp part as I don't know

Borla. If you put 18's on there, your asking for trubble. Good luck with the speed bumps. You will rubb!

Just the muffler and get a magnaflow hi-flow cat. Those cat back systems never fit, take my word for it. It will also help with gas mil.

Re: Just got a 2000 Grand Prix SE and want to mod it up
spitfire 40059. I got that one on my alero and its great. I also had a magnaflow like that on my old 93 grand prix. It gives a great sound. Magnaflow makes a hi-flow cat, i got one on my alero, i looked at there site as well, but with no lick. give them a call and the can order you one or give you or send you a pic of what it looks like or the specs on it. With all of this, your gas mil. will go up, and get more power. I hope this helps a little more.

a friend of a friend has 20's on his 98 GTP. i dont know if he has any problems, but he keeps puttin them back on each spring. i personaly dont like the look of 20's on a car like this, but im not a huge fan of man hole cover looking chrome 20's.
heres a prix with 18's http://www.cardomain.com/ride/436738
if you ask me i see enough wheel well clearance. as long as you keep the stock total size about the same i dont see how a problem can occur.
and heres some 20's but also with a body kit http://www.cardomain.com/ride/620504
but im not a rim/tire guy so i dont know much about this topic. just that it has been done

Re: Just got a 2000 Grand Prix SE and want to mod it up
well someppl dont know what they're talking about around here it seems... Here's my car, lets hear all the bad stuff about it:

you can put up to 20's on there w/ stock suspension, ive seen 22's on a gp with a custom coilover suspension setup.. if you dont plan on racing it i wouldnt worry about the suspension failing.. personally dont go bigger than 18 or it looks like ass
