installed a new tranny. Is there any upgrades to make a "48" last longer? The original one had 145,000, can't complain, but with all the bad stories, if there was any way to upgrade i'd appreciate any advice.

Since heat is the enemy of an automatic transmission, an automatic transmission oil cooler will extend the life of your transmission. Changing the automatic transmission fluid at recommended intervals will also make your transmission last longer.
