maybe I am stating this wrong but, I changed my fuel filter and didn't follow the instructions at the end

(turn the ignition key to the "on" position but *do not* crank the engine to start yet. Wait and listen for the fuel pump "humming" to stop. Now crank the engine to start, it may take a few seconds longer to start, and may not start on the first crank. (remember that there is air trapped in the system which needs to escape first).

I just started the car and for some reason I hear air from somewhere, I am pretty sure that I didn't follow the directions right so this is the problem. I know I probably flooded my car because, I pushed on the gas about 10 different times. Does anyone know if this is the problem or is it something else.........

Sounds like there are air pockets....

If you have air in the fuel system it needs to be bled out. It can be done at the Schrader valve located on the fuel pressure regulator located on the front fuel injector rail. For safety reasons it is best to use a fuel pressure tester which has a purge valve and drain hose included.

After I change a fuel filter I let the fuel pump prime several times. Turn ignition to run not start for several seconds. Turn off and then repeat a few more times before actually starting the engine.

Plus make sure you installed the fuel filter properly and check especially the connection towards the gas tank.
