Angry 01 Grand am se Caliper Replacement Help.

Ok, I'm replacing the passenger side caliper and I've had the same issue twice. I'm not real technical but I'll try to describe the problem as best I can. When replacing the caliper(bought the new one from Autozone). I screw in the brake hose assembly(metal box looking thing) til its pretty tight. I mash on the brakes a couple times to check if it'll leak. It does, So i tighten alittle more. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. Until Its still leaking and I go to tighted and strip the threads inside the new caliper. Bolt is fine. I went back to autozone and got another caliper. Came home and did process all over again with the same result. When the sell you the new caliper it comes with two brass washers. Which I put one between top of the bolt and top of metal box. The other washer I put inbetween the top of the caliper and bottom of metal box. I can think of two things that might be the cause. 1. Autozone is selling bunk stuff with bad threads or 2. I'm an idiot. I choose the latter. I'm so frustrated I wanna beat this car until I feel better. Which will prolly be awhile. Please help...

Possible the old copper washers are stuck to the fittings and now they are doubled up?

I looked at that and it appears that might be the case. When I go to return the stripped caliper I'll get a new assembly. Hope that works

Thanks
