95 monte carlo security codes

This might seem kinda juvenile, but i haven't had the chance to deal with a cd player that has a anti-theft sytem in it. I am 17 and this is my second car. It is a 95 Monte Carlo. I have my factory cd player in, and i want to put in an aftermarket cd player. Do i need a security code to get the factory out?

Re: 95 monte carlo security codes

Survey says! no you dont need to shut down theftlock although hooking it up might not be as easy as you think. i got a buddy with a 04 pontiac sunfire and when he installed his stereo he had to keep the old one hooked up yet. the guys that did it routed wires to the trunk. your situation might be hella easyer though just pick up a wiring harness from best buy or somewhere and ask one of the guys who installs car stereos if youd need to keep your factory unit installed
