I'm considering the purchase of a 2000 GT. It has about 67k miles on it. Wondering how that year and model has treated everyone. I have read a lot about bad fuel pumps, constant brake/rotor repair. And that the car has actually been kinda crappy. Any input on this?

I bought my 2000 GT1 about 6 months ago, and all is well so far. I was quite fortunate though as it was well maintained and owned by an 82 year old gent who owns 15 NAPA Auto Parts stores. (he still owns them despite the age) That was why I jumped right onto the purchase of it as I considered it a pretty rare find.
Anyways, the only thing that needed to be replaced so far was my front sway bar and bushings. Nothing was actually wrong with it, but it was making creaking/groaning sounds when cornering; just an annoyance thing. But my two-year bumper-to-bumper warranty covers everything anyways. Also, my windshield washer reservoir only holds about one cup of fluid, and they ordered me a new washer bottle.
The only other thing is my radio, and the dealership ordered me a new radio too. it apparently has that volume control problem that many GM radios have. The radio has come in, so I have to make an appointment to have it installed.
Of course, I guess we all will be dealing with that notorious LIM problem sometime down the road but so far the lower intake gasket appears o.k.
I am leaving my car all 100% Pontiac stock; I have no mods planned for the car. It has been meticulously cared for; only five people have sat in the back seat even, lol as the previous owner used the car for his "spare".... I was quite fortunate.
Good luck with yours, krono... I think you;ll be happy with it also. Oh, I forgot.... I think the only recall issue with the 2000 is that hazard switch flasher. I think it makes a clicking sound if it has gone bad. I believe Pontiac replaces that immediately because it is considered a safety factor (non-functioning turn signals).

I've got a cute one here too.... I have gotten into a little bit of a pickle, lol... My original radio was messed up with that volume problem, and also it had my nephew's favorite Dave Matthews Band CD stuck in it. When my dealership called to tell me my new radio has come in, I took mine out and gave it to my nephew to do a surgical autopsy on it to get his CD back. Well, I didn't know that I needed that radio to trade in for a "core replacement" type thing. Now my radio has been surgically altered, so I am stuck, lol.....I've been searching Ebay to try to find one; working or not; so I can get my new radio. Silly me; I never thought I'd need the radio.... but I guess they get rebuilt with new volume controls.
Now get this..... the price of that new radio from the dealership is $500.00; without that core trade in thing.... With the trade, my cost is nothing as it is covered under my vehicle warranty.
Just thought I'd mention that in case anybody else has the same thing....don't do a silly thing like I did, lol....

2000's are good rides. The 01's are the ones with the passlock crap malfunctioning and or the ignition switch.

The rotor issue is usually because the bolts on the calipers arent properly greased to allow the calipers to slide when breaking.

The LIM gaskets are a prob, if you ever replace them make sure to use the GM ones with the metal rings around the jackets, they last the longest and giv the best results. Are recommended by GMs TSB.
I hav replaced my LIM gaskets I think 7 times(ya thats alot), the last three were over Thanksgiving holiday. Blew one, then kept having a leak, ended up being the Headgaskets, 3 LIMs later.
I could hav reused the ones I thought were bad, but better to play it safe.
I run my GA hard so I expect to pay to play. These cars are cheap toys
