Alright so I got a 2003 Monte with a 3.4.. well so far its been going good up until this week or so when I just notice that my needle drops quicker than it usually does.. and what I mean quick like it drops from 3/4s full to half a tank, and I drive it everyday but that happens over the course of 2 days and I only drive it to school and back which is about 20 miles, lets say.

So my question is, what could be the problem? Im giving it a tune up this weekend and changing the fuel filter today, I think that should fix the problem, especially the filter alone. Anyone else have any suggestions? All I picked up was spark plugs and wires for the tune up, so I know im missing something else.. I also have already replaced the air filter about 10K miles ago, so it still has a while to go, right?

Also my car has 50Kish miles on it.

Any feedback is appreciated!

Any feedback is appreciated! sometimes your oxyogen sensor makes the car burn more gas if its bad, take your car to a garage and have a scan done, cost app $75-$100

I had the same problem and had to change the O2 sensors and it took care of the problem.
