My 2003 Chevrolet Suburban won't start when the fuel tank reads fuel is at 1/4 full. When I put gas into it to get the fuel above 1/4 full it will start. It's beginning to annoy me.

Keep an eye out to see if your Security light is flashing while trying to start. If that's all it is , then reset your Passlock 2. If it's something else, then I'm sure others will give you plenty of ideas on how to troubleshoot.

Lets assume your gage is right and this is not on any kind of a steep incline, you should have the fuel pressure tested under the conditions it occurs.

well its very rare but has happened to me before the pickup tube was real short so i had to keep my tank above 1/4 full to keep it running. if i was you i would take it to a trusted local shop and ask them to check your fuel pick up tube. but i would also start with the above posts first use this as a last resort

if it's not a big deal to you, just keep it above a 1/4 tank. if it is a big deal the most likely cause is the sending unit. the best (easiest) thing to could do is try tapping on the gas tank when it's allegedly 1/4 full and see if it's empty
