97 Grand AM Hesitation

97 Grand Am-4 cylinder-2.4L
Hello all. I'm currently having problems with the grand am. Whenever I come to a complete stop and step on the gas peddle, the car hesitates like it wants to stop before it will finally go and run like its supposed to. It won't do it all the time and I have no check engine light on. When I'm idle it doesn't run rough. So far I have replaced the spark plug and coil housing. I plan on replacing the coils next. Does anybody have any other suggestion on what I should check on or have experienced the same issue? Thanks in advance.

Re: 96 Grand AM Hesitation

Hello, I have a '96 GA, 5 speed and I have the same problems. At idle and above 45 mph the car runs great, but sometimes when I take off it acts like it is not getting fuel. I replaced the fuel filter and this didn't solve the problem. A friend of mine suggested the fuel pump. I don't know what to do.

Re: 97 Grand AM Hesitation

I have a 96 GAGT 5speed and that would happen coming out of shifts 1 through 4 any way it turned out to be the ignition module, your cases may be different but it is another thing to look at.
