2001 GA-SE Rotors V6 3.4

I've read that the stock rotors for these cars are basically crap. Now the car is due for a brake and of course rotors (since there is nothing left of them ). Could someone recommend a GOOD name brand set of rotors and pads , that will match them. Don't want to get to crazy but would like a good , clean, long lasting brake combination. aLSO ARE THE CALIPERS WORTH ANYTHING OR DO THRY HAVE THEIR DOWNFALLS ALSO Thanks for all your help guys-Chris

I would go with a ceramic pad, as they don't create the black dust that metallics do, and they won't squeal. The rotors, as long as you or your repair facility don't use impact tools to install them, and torque the lug nuts to spec, you shouldn't have a problem. I've used the chinese made rotors, following the proper proceedures, and have had no problems. If you brake hard, you may want to go with a Raybestos or Bendix branded rotor, but I don't believe the quality justifies the cost.

On our '02 Olds Alero GL2 I went with the Raybestos PG Plus rotors and ceramic pads. Higher cost but well worth it. The Bendix rotors are too overpriced.

The problem with the cheapy rotors is they will wear out and you will get lateral runout in the form of vibration when braking (normal). We got the Chinese made ones and within a month I had to take them back. We exchanged them for the Raybestos brand and the braking is very good. No more brake dust either.
