Question 96 Rear Hatch Lift Strut Replacement??

Hi all, Happy New Year...

I have a 96 Astro with rear dutch doors. The lift gate struts do not hold the gate up any longer.
I went to the local NAPA store and purchased replacement lift struts. I am very mechanical and have replaced several of these struts on all types of vehicles but have never seen struts quite like these.
The strut appears normal, but the new strut in the package only has one mount on it and that would be the part that mounts to the hatch, the other part (the shaft) does not have a mount on it, it is only threaded.
The mount that is on body end of the strut appears to be approx 4-5 inches long and has two wires going from it into door frame.
Do I just unscrew the old struts from this mount and screw in the new struts???

Any help would be great... I would like to get a reply before I try and "screw-up" the shafts.
Thanks for the help.
JC

You got it. Just unscrew them.
