Angry Starting Problem

I just purchased a 1998 528i and now I am having problems with it starting when hot. I will drive the car for several hours and stop and get gas and when I try to restart nothing happens. I turn the the key over and the interior ligts come on however the car will not turn over. I can try it a few minutes later the car will turn over and start. Sometimes it will start the second try and sometimes it takes an hour. Help!!

Hello Mate,
Try the Control Check button, near the rev counter, this should list any problems you may have, if not try calling BMW and ask the question, you could get a bored technician willing to help you without you having to pay any cash.

I may sound stupid but I don't know what you mean. What control button? and where is the rev counter?

I found the Control button thanks. I took the car to the dealer and they say it is the starter. I am very sceptical. The car is not trying to turn over, therefore, I would assume no power was getting to the starter. Any suggestions?
