1997 Silverado 1500 SES Light - reset (?)

I recently found (here) a way to reset the SES light on my 02' TB. Is there a way I can reset the SES light on my Mom's 1997' Silverado?

You can take off the positive battery cable for 30 seconds, that will clear the memory. But if the SES light came on, that means the ECM has found a problem with the engine or emissions. The light will come right back on if the problem is not corrected. Once corrected the light will go out after it has passed 2 drive cycles. I would not clear if I where you, because the ECM has stored the history of the fault. Erasing the ECM's memory is not good for troubleshooting.
