1995 Astro Boggs down, loss of power

I am writing this to help people with troubleshooting. I have an 1995 Chevy Astro AWD that would start fine everytime but when you started to drive above 10 mph the engine felt like it was flooded and not want to go anywhere. I would push the gas pedal to the floor and it felt like the engine was not even on then I would let go of the gas pedel and you would hear the engine again. If you slightly touch the gas pedal you would be able to slowly move at 10 mph. If you had to go up a hill it would take you forever because you had no power and would keep stalling. I checked the fuel pressure and it was 55psi when I would ride around it would stay around 53-55psi but not higher. after I shut off the van the pressure would go to 0psi. I replaced the fuel pump and the pressure stayed at 62psi at idle and would increase up to 75 psi when I drove around. The van ran perfectly from then on. So I found out that this year Astro needs to be as high as 60psi at all times or you will have a extreme lack of acceleration leaving the van useless. I hope this helps people.

If your pressure is droppping to zero you probably need to replace your spider as well.

my 95 has 90k and has almost the same symptoms...except doesnt stall. idles ok but bogs down on acceleration. it almost stalls when you come to a stop with the brake on. ive replaced the coil/wires/plugs/cap/rotor/fuelfilter/airfilter/ignition module to no repair, im going to test the fuel pressure and follow your specs tomorow. could it be the catylitic converter is clogged? ill keep you posted on my results.
