Dead Speedo and Odometer...wasn't VSS...Please Help

I have a 93 S10 pickup, 2wd 2.5.
The speedometer and the odometer haven't worked since I got the truck. I put in a new speed sensor today and it didn't fix it. I pulled the gauge cluster and jumped the speedo pin to ground and got a reading, so I know the needle works, I'm just not getting any signal from the sensor. I checked voltage at the sensor and didn't have anything. Checked the wires from it to the fire wall and they looked good. What am I missing? I'd appreciate any help.
Thanks,
Jon

Where do the wires for it run from inside the cab? I can see them from the firewall to the sensor, but not under the dash. If I knew where to trace I could trace. Are there any other things it could be?
Thanks,
Jon

Have you taken a look at the DRAC module?

The DRAC module is attached to your ECM under the dash. Essentially it converts the signal from your VSS to work with your speedo

Is there a way to test it without replacing it?

You can take it apart and meter everything in it based on the coding of the caps, resistors, et-al
