Unhappy Catalytic converter started rattling....

Well the saga continues, I was heading out to the golf course this weekend and heard an obvious and loud rattle coming from under my blazer at low RPMs. Having a continuing CPI problem, i was worried that i had finally scored a main bearing due to the extra fuel that is making it into the oil but decided to investigate further before making that determination. Upon arrival home i proptly put the truck on some ramps so i could get a good view of what may or may not be happeing under there. It was easy to surmise that the noise was coming from inside the Cat and not the heat shield. My assumption (key word here) is that the excessive carbon build up from the failing CPI unit has caused it to fail and the catalyst inside has cracked up. Since i have to wait another week or so to order the new CPI kit i went ahead and changed the oil. So, now pose this question to you guys..... does anyone know of any good deals on direct replacement CATs or has anyone used the "universal" models from magnaflow, etc.. and what results have you had? I will replace this unit when i replace the CPI in a week or so, so we have some time to investigate this.....

I would love to install one of those Raiven mufflers but i cannot find them anywhere for sale??? any help there wouldnt hurt either...

I got my cats from that guy on ebay for the v8 swap. i paid 36.99 each for a cat that can go up to a 5.7.He has alot on their i just have the link showing the eastern cats which are the hi flow variety. He has flowtech raptors on their , i liked what they sounded like on a couple other trucks so i got me some. You can browse around their sometimes a raven will pop up on ebay and some of the local places that carry them might still have one.
