fuel filler hose off tankjwilson6 12-27-2005, 06:32 PM I am replacing the fuel pump in my 98 jimmy. I can't for the life of me get the filler hose off the tank any ideas corning_d3 12-27-2005, 08:53 PM Wrap a pair of channel locks around the hose at the tank and twist it until it breaks loose. Or you could always remove the entire hose by removing a few torx bolts from underneath the fuel door.. drewgibs 12-27-2005, 10:04 PM razor blade and replace it....i just did the same thing on my 96 blazer and 10 year old rubber hoses just dont come off corning_d3 12-27-2005, 10:18 PM Keep in mind a replacement fuel-safe hose can run up to $70 a foot.... drewgibs 12-27-2005, 10:35 PM Keep in mind a replacement fuel-safe hose can run up to $70 a foot.... $70/foot?!?!? i got both the vent pipe hose and fuel filler hose for $12 at a napa store, i dunno how safe it is but it works, and at the dealer i think they wanted $20 for just the fuel filler hose section mike2004tct 12-28-2005, 09:21 AM $70/foot?!?!? i got both the vent pipe hose and fuel filler hose for $12 at a napa store, i dunno how safe it is but it works, and at the dealer i think they wanted $20 for just the fuel filler hose section :iagree: Fuel-safe?. You must be joking. I also went to napa and got a piece of hose for $5.00. Just as safe as the rubber fittings on the fuel lines into/out of the filters. Why pay the dealer to go down to Napa and buy the same hose, then sell it to you at a 400% mark-up? corning_d3 12-28-2005, 03:47 PM Yeah, but we only had a hoe'reillys, n those pimple-faced kids running it aren't "top notch" They coulda been tryin to sell me a flex hose er something..
