Break fluid change emergency

About a month ago, I lent my 92 PF to a friend whose car was in the shop.
A few dasys before lending him the car, the break light started flickering at times, so when he asked I told him that it probably needed pads, so to watch out for noises.

When he returned it, I went to start it and....the pedal was almost to the floor!!!
Indeed, there was NO break fluid in the reservoir. I was soooo lucky nothing happened to him.

So now, I need to refill the system and while I'm at it, I'll do the routine fluid chance and bleed.

Is there anything I should watch out for, since I'm starting from and empty system (of corse, find the leak!!). Any element in the system known to be leaky??

I assume the sequence is always the same, start from the 5th bleeder valve in the middle, and work my way through the 4 wheels.....

Thanks in advance

Re: Break fluid change emergency

most of the time, the system will leak at the connectors, so check all the brake lines and make sure the connections aren't leaking. also check the brake calipers and brake cylinders (if you have drum brakes in the rear)
