No reverse update!!!!!!!!

I have complete my over haul on my transmission. I found the sun shell reaction gear wae broken. All the clutches and such looked good, but I replaced them anyway. I didn't see any point in not replacing them seeing how I had the tranny complete apart. I rebuilt it and the valve body. It only cost me a little under 400 dollars and I spent Chrismas eve putting it back in. It runs great. I could have just gotten by with replacing the sun shell reaction gear, but, I read on someone post before about doing the job right the first time. I agree with that smart person. He's got a good point. Hats off to that person. By the way, it was my first transmission rebuild ever. It was fairly easy and it runs like hell. I flushed the complete system. and I haven't had any problems with the 2w/hi- 4w/hi lights flashing anymore. Just wanted to share my success with all of you.
Thanks,
Southern

Great job. Where did you get the transmission maintenance manual from?

Thank you Brian. Here is a link to where I got the ATSG manual. I think it was only 14 dollars + shipping. It was the cheapest place I could find it.
http://www.oregonperformancetransmission.com/. I had to buy the updated one as well. Trust me, they are worth thier wait in gold. I wouldn't have thought of tackleling this job without both of these manuals. Here is another link to where I bought most of my parts.
http://www.transmissionpartsusa.com/, I spent a lot of time and research looking for the best prices. I am currently laid off for work and have been since June. Normally I wouldn't have tried to rebuild the tranny myself, but after getting prices on a rebuilt one, used one or just having mine rebuilt, I didn't have much to loose trying to rebuild it myself. I am really good when it comes to working on moters and such, but that was my first transmission overhaul ever. Believe it or not, it was really easy with the manuals. I have a 98 camaro with the same transmission in it. I won't hesitate to tear it down and rebuild it, when it goes out. Thank you for your comments.
Southern.

Thank you for the good ole Hell Yeah, and the hat's off. I'm kinda like you, when it comes to transmissions. I'll tear into any other part of a car
and work on it. But, I've been unemployed since June and don't have the finances to hire someone to rebuild mine or buy a rebuilt one. I figured I didn't have much to lose by trying to rebuild it my self. I felt I could fix it or screw it up worse, but what the hell, had I screwed it up, I was still out of a truck. So I went for it. And it works great. The way I feel is ,nothing ventured, nothing gained. My truck only had 92K miles on it and my camaro has 102K, so when it goes out, I am confident I can rebuild it at a fraction of the cost, and I'll know what's insde of my transmission. And if the breaks after I rebuild it, I have no one to blame but myself.
Thanks Again,
Southern
