Exclamation Big Problem!

I located my crankshaft position sensor and took out the bolt holding it on. I tried to pull it out,but it wouldn't budge. I tapped around it with a flathead screwdriver and it snapped off almost flush. Any reason anyone could think of why it won't pull out? I want to try needle nose pliers next but dont want to push it inside either. I am suppose to pick my wife up from work in a little under two hours and I am freaking! Please help with ANY help. Thanks.........

I never tried using a heat gun before. Should I go buy one to see if that helps? The cheapest one I could find was $40.00
Would that even help?

Re: Big Problem!

theyre a pain. the o-ring has become one with your block and about the only way youre going to get it out is run a nice size screw into it and pull it out like that. whatever you do youre going to really trash the thing so get ready.

Geez, ya know I sprayed a ton of WD40, quite a bit of mystery oil, and pulled friggin "hard" but it wont even budge a little. Im so screwed! I've been working on this thing since 10 this morning and have gotten absolutely nowhere. How depressing is that! I really do appreciate the help, but any more ideas guys? Thanks again.........

Re: Big Problem!

well it shouldnt push through and if it does it wont hurt anything lying in the pan.see if you can turn it.work it back and forth in and out. keep spraying it with your WD. for the most part youll trying to flush dirt and tarnish while working lube up into the seal. keep heat the housing. what your trying to do is expand the housing(and maybe smoke the rubber)heat will make the plastic and rubber somewhat softer and a little more flexable(NON BREAKABLE)
