No real reason, I've seen it done on muscle cars....I think it's more for the 'hey look at me' factor than anything.

Re: gauges???

If the fuel pressure gauge is electrical, why couldn't you put it inside the car?

Damn ricers....
Someone needs to vandalize those gauges...I'd say that's doing him a favor by cleaning it up.

Re: gauges???

Are WRXs wired for boost guages? I am trying to sell my del Sol and I want to get a WRX (Just got a promotoion at work. I am 18 so a manager at fast food and living at home means WRX!) Just wondering, I have never had a turbo car, and I am not about to turbo my car...I don't know much about the wiring for boosted cars.

Re: gauges???

WRX's are wired as an option, although it's not that difficult anyhow.

Re: gauges???

On the muscle cars it was common because most sanctioning organizations wont allow you to have fuel and oil lines inside the passenger compartment, so with a mechanical guage it's the only place you can stick it and read it.

I have a mechanical oil pressure guage in my center dash guage pod though
