Fuel pump quit

98 Blazer - 4x4

Go out this morning to start it, and it turns over but will not run.

Turned the key to Run but didnt start it, and I no longer hear the priming of the fuel pump.

Anyone think that it is the fuel pump? Or could it be something else?

Re: Fuel pump quit

Got spark to plugs?
Got 12 volts power to fuel pump or the fuel pump prime test plug.
Check for them two things first and post back answer.

Drewgibs
Your Blaizer is a different year.
Would be better to start a new post.
Two different problems on one post will get 2 or more confusing answers.
Start a new post and give year make and model and engine and trans and mileage and also if you have spark to plugs.

Where are any possible relays/fuses for the fuel pump on our '98?

EDIT: Found the relay. Could it possibly be bad?

EDIT #2: The fuel pump was replaced right before we got the Blazer and there was a part they forgot in the pump and caused it to always make a whirring/buzzing noise.

Re: Fuel pump quit

First thing is to check for spark at 2 or more spark plugs.
If good spark .
Check the ECM B 20 amp fuse.
Then go to this link for a pdf on it.

Re: Fuel pump quit

It was the fuel pump. Glad that was fixed. It was getting hard for us to haul things home from the store in the '89 Camaro.

Re: Fuel pump quit

Thanks for posting back the fix. Glad you got it going.
To help others that may have that problem How did you figure out it was the fuel pump?
