LH mirror snapped off this morning when unfolding it. It's power, heated, auto dimming. Looking for replacements online, I can't find an auto dimming one. Anyone know a source for them other than the dealer ($$$$)?

Anyone know if I can simply use a non-dimming one?

Thanks,
Craig

I did the same to my 01 mirror the other day. I over extended it by and it popped off. Take it apart you can fix it. It take time and patience! Make a washer type piece (cap) to re install the snap ring onto the piviot tube inside. Use a good twist or "c" clamp to press it back on. A little grease on the mating parts and your good to go. Alot cheaper than a replacement I am sure.

Blue -

Was looking at the mirror over the weekend, and you're exactly correct, its the retaining ring that just popped off. I didn't have alot of time to mess with it, but how does the mirror itself come out? Looks like maybe 2 torx screws and the back (actually front) of the housing comes off, then is the mirror removeable via that opening?

Thanks!
Craig

Nope, if you are talking about the glass, it just pulls away. The whole mirror removal (which makes fixing it eaiser) comes off from the inside by removing the plactic triangle piece. I think there are two screws and a wiring harnees connecting it. If you need any other help you can email me at center86@aol.com and I'll try to help you. It really only takes 20 mins to fix including taking it off and putting it back on.
