01 Cavalier..turns,but doesnt start...

First timer here guys.

I was driving along headed to the GAS STATION when my "good luck" kicked in. While driving up a fair size hill..the car ran out of gas and died on me..

I was honestly 1 mile from the station.

anyways, i called my roadside and asked to bring me some gas.

While waiting for an hour, in the cold...I was stupid, and hoped it would start and MAYBE get me over that hill. Well it didn't and in the process I managed to drain my battery.

so 60 mins later, the guy comes and puts something like 5-$10 in my tank...she turns, and turns and turns...but no go.

So i get the car off the road and leave it over night.

Now....About a month ago i noticed the car would bogg if I was at a low RPM in say 3rd gear. A buddie mentioned it's probably mouisture in the plugs...well..it went away and came back ONLY why it rained or snowed...

So....here is my issue...the car cranks, has gas but won't start..my friend said he thinks the spark it grounding out somewhere and isnt allowing the car to fire up....you can hear the sparks when you turn the key.

We can hear the fuel pump kick in..so I dont think its that...

Kinda stuck, and can't afford major repairs...

From my understanding, 01 Cavaliers dont have "spark plug wires" but they have "boots" ? or coils?....I'm almost convinced thats what the problem is...

HELP HELP HELP...

Thanks

P.S how hard is it to change the "boots on the plugs"?
