i bought i set f rims off of a buy rota n1r they were spraypainted by him red. but i want them their factory silver. i tribe carb cleaner and break cleaner and it just takes too much time and scrubbing. same thing for acetone. whats the easiest way to do this. thanks

That IS the easiest way, but you'll have to clearcoat the rims again once you're done. Alloy wheels are sometimes described as a bunch of air held together by metal. In otherwords, alloy wheels will leak unless coated. The stuff you mentioned removes paint and clearcoat.

I agree with the previous guy, you could try stripping them back with brake fluid, just brush it all over the painted surface and leave it for a few hours or a day depending on how thick paint is, you may have to keep applying the fluid to get it to soak in. Don't worry the brake fluid wont stain the pavement or driveway like normal oil, its hydroscopic and will wash away easily. Its also vegetable based oil not petroleum so it wont harm the local eco system.
But make sure you re-paint the rims or they leak and become very weak over time.

I sand blasted my wheels using "sugar" sand w/my cheap Craftsman sand blaster. I then powder coated the wheels with a coating unit that I got from Harbor Freight and baked them in an oven that I picked up (really cheap) at a garage sale.
The wheels turned out so good that I am in the process of coating a set of Z06 wheels I got for my Corvette.

the thing is that im too lazy to go pay and get the tires removed and put them back on. but i found this Item at a knechts called paint remover. pretty much it just bubbles the paint and it peels right off. prefect if you are pissed at someone and wanna screw his car over. ;-) i used a wire weel and a compresson and took all the paint out. put 3 coats of duplicolor wheel paint. bronz color, and 3 coats of clear coat. they look really nice now. though they are for sale. cause they are too heavy from my lil geo metro. :-D i could go more then 65 MPH. they are rota N1R's 16 inch with 205/40 on them up for grabs $400
