84 S10 SHAKY AT SPEEDS >35 MPH

Alright.... 84 S10 2.8l V6, 700 Tranny, Just Replaced The Shift Sensors, Fluid And Filter For Tranny. When I Mash The Pedal, It Runs Really Rough, Shaking Nasty Like Until It Shifts Into Second(my Ketchup Gear), Then Again Just Before It Shifts Into Third. I Thought It Was The Filter And Fluid On My Trans, But It Still Does It. I Also Just Got All Brand New Tires, And I Thought Maybe They Got Lazy And Didn't Balance Them, But They Took It Back And Told Me I Had A Perfect Balance. This Is Really Starting To Bug Me As I Spend Most Of My Time In The Truck On The High Way. Also It Seems That I Can Get It Up To Maybe 55mph, But If I Try To Go Any Faster,(not That I Would Being A Law Abiding Citizen) It Seem To Jump Into Final And Scream Like An Ass Raped Chimp. Any Help You Could Give Would Be So Appreciated

so let me get this straight, it runs like crap when you give it hell? sounds like an ignition problem. have you checked your plugs/wires/cap/rotor at all? if you havent changed any of that stuff in a loong time, 40-50K+, it probably wouldnt be a bad idea to start looking at it and see if anything obvious is going on. pull some plugs and see if theyre black or worn out.

I Changed The Cap Rotor And Plugs/wires Last Summer, I Think About 25-30k Miles Ago. I'll Check Them Tonight. I Pray Its Something Easy Likethat, And Not Something Thats A Pain In The Patootey.

get your coil checked out as well. check your fuel pressure, and look for vacuum leaks.

WHICH COIL? STARTER COIL? IGNITION COIL?
CHANGED THE PLUGS WIRES AND CAP, BUT DIDN'T HAVE ENOUGH MOOLAH FOR THE ROTOR. STILL DOING IT CHECKED FUEL PRESSURE, THAT'S FINE. AS I WAS CHANGING THE CAP, I NOTICED THAT A VAC TUBE KEPT COMING LOOSE, SO I STUFFED TI BACK IN THE T JUNCTION IT CAME FROM. COULD IT POSSIBLY BE THE DIFFERENTIAL FLUID CAUSING MY SHIMMY AND SHAKE?

ALL THE PLUGS HAD BURNT CRAP ON THEM. THE #2 PLUG BROKE OFF (CERAMICS) WHEN I WAS REMOVING IT. AFTER THE PLUG SWITCH OUT, IT RAN FINE IN IDLE, BUT STILL DOES THE SHIMMY WHEN I STEP ON THE GAS. I NOTICED NOW THAT FIRST GEAR IS BACK TO THE NORM, BUT SECOND AND THIRD ARE TERRIBLE NOW.ANY IDEAS WOULD BE WELCOME

cap and rotor should have been sold as a set. test your ignition coil, if it original one, it could be time for new one. a hesitation is causing your shaking problem.

WHERE WOULD I FIND THE IGN COIL ON THE TRUCK? I'M PRETTY MUCH A NEWBIE WITH KNOWLEDGE, BUT I STILL NEED SOME KNOWLEDGE TO MAKE ME MOVE UP.

easiest way to locate the coil is to look at you distribitor cap, the plug wire that is very center of cap is the coil wire. follow that wire from cap and the coil is on the other end. autozone will test it free of charge.
