Weak Wiper Fluid Pressure??

Hello, i'm looking for a little help. I have a 98 K1500 Z71 and when i push the wiper fluid switch forward the wipers turn on but no wiper fluid comes out for about 3-4 seconds, then when the fluid does come out it only squirts up about 4 inches on the windshield. The fluid doesn't get any higher than where the wipers rest when not turned on. Any ideas?

Re: Weak Wiper Fluid Pressure??

I have the same problem in my 88 K3500. I put in a new washer pump for $20.00 but still can't get the whole windshield squirted down. Tried to adjust the jets sticking out of the cowl. No luck.

take a pin and stick in the squirters to clean them out there could be junk in the squirters.

it may also be the pulse modulator for the wipers, mine would work intermitently and not squirt at all. I replace the pulse modultor and that did it. it was about $30 at checker.

I tried cleaning out the jets with a pin, no change.

Oldchevy - where is the pulse modulator located?

Go buy a new pump and put it in and take your lines that lead to your jets and take them off and blow through the lines and see if they are clear. Put it all back on and it should work fine. If that does not do it then you probly have a eletric problem. Check wires leading to the pump and see if any are burnt or smashed ot crimped.
