radio display

the display on the radio in my 2000 GTP is on the fritz. The numbers are all messed up if I am in the car for more that an hour or so. I can turn off the car and then turn it back on and the display comes back. Some times it will come back on its own. I used to be able to play a cd and the display would come back. I have read the trends on how to replace the bulb behind the LED display. I have also found the other trends were people have the same problem that I have. The questions I have has any one actullay had the same problem with the numbers being garballed and actully fixed it them selves by replacing the bulb or other means. How did you fix it? I do not want to tak it to the dealer to fix it I would like to do it my self. I am going to pull the radio out and clean the contacts ant shoot the inside with air to get ride of the dust. I hope this works. I am getting fustrated with this car. I love the car but the electronics suck and I am getting tired of the stupid anoyances that keep happening.
