S60R: winter tires ???

Last winter in Chicago, it was mild, I didn't put on many miles, and I did not feel a need for winter tires.

I went to Traverse City, MI for Thanksgiving, and the sleet has opened my eyes to the need for winter tires.

I have the money to do this; but, I really do not want to invest in rims, too. After all, this is a lease car ;>

I am no tire nor brand expert. I am satisfied with the original tires the rest of the year. I want really good performance in adverse conditions. I want the best money can by -- within reason. Does this make sense?

What do you folks recommend?

What _bad_ experieces have you had with which tires?

What _good_ experiences have you had with which tires?

What do you think?

Best Regards,

helices
