Delco remote cd player problem

My '95 Silverado came an ETR AM-FM Stereo Audio Cassette ATC System with no remote cd player. I found a (used) remote cd player out of a wrecked truck $200 (dealer wanted $863 new), then, bought the jumper 9-pin wire harness from the dealer that plugs right in to the back of my factory cassette/radio.

The cd player will only play 1 out of every 10 or 20 cds and not even the same one each time it does play.

Most of the time on the factory unit display I just get the CD indicator (recognizing a cd in the remote player) then, an Err message, then, it spits the cd back out.

I e-mailed Speed-O-Tach at solelectronics.com (found them in a seach engine). I'm waitng for a reply from them, but, I expect them to want to see the unit to diagnos it.

Can anyone help?

Re: Delco remote cd player problem

i have a 95 chevy tahoe that does the same exact thing ... sometimes it wont eject the cd thought the lights come on ... tried messin with the harness on the back of the stereo and player and it seemed to work but it could have been a coincidence
