Do i need to take off intake before smog check?

Will I fail the smog check if i have a CAI and a muffler??

Depends, what CAI and muffler do you have? Most are 50 state legal... but when in doubt, replace it :frog:

nothing too much you can do with the muffler cuz its welded. The intake replace with your stock. That way it will past the visual and it will become more lean and hot help with lowering the emissions. I have intake and fail the visual (stupid) then replace with stock and past both test. I live in cali

i have a no-brand CAI...

this sucks, i don't know how to replace the intake....i don't wanna pay the shop to do it.

the stock intake will not cause the motor to run leaner. the ecu is working in closed loop with the O2 sensor at idle, therefore it's constantly adjusting the fuel mixture on it's own. intake doesnt make a difference.

Dude...it's not that hard. Even if you have absolutely no mechanical experience. Just take a screwdriver and a socket set and go look at the thing. It should be pretty self-explanatory.

i have the exact same problem and i need to take my intake off of my d16y7.......im afraid that i might mess up so do guys know of any sites that explains how to put back my stock intake step by step?

As long as it's a sniffer test, no. I've had my car tested for emissions (w/ APEXi intake/N2 header/Greddy PE exhaust) and she passed w/ no problems at all.
