I am pretty new to working with trucks and I just bought a 1997 F-150 and was just curious to what specs the rearend is, mostly is it a 9" or whatever else ford makes (I'm new to Ford too) what ratio are the gears, the length of the axles, splines, etc. etc. etc. It's a 4.6L two wheel drive reg cab ext bed. XLT I would give you the VIN but I don't have it on me at the moment.

Thanks

Oh also what kind of liners and covers do ya'all have? I want to find something not too expensive. It has a liner but has two slits cut out for brackets for a box or something so I want to replace it.

I also had the problem with the hose hanging off the rearend and the lights not going out for hours but found the answer on a search :) Thanks, I'll be trying to fix them soon.

most likely you have 355's in the rear.

The axle is a 31 spline 8.8" unit, and he's correct, the most common gear ratio is 3.55 but they do run from 3.27 to 4.10 in that model truck.
