96 Runs but won't idel

Hi, I have a 1996 passport with the 3.2 and a 5 speed manual. The last couple of days I have a problem with the car not wanting to continue to idel. Sat. I started it it ran a couple of minutes and then I drove when I reached the stop sign and the car shut off I had to get it gas to restart and as soon as I let off the accelerator it dies. After about 20 minutes it idel again.

Tonight I had the same problem but it never cleared up. Ever stop sign I go to I have to retart or work to manual keep the idel up.

Any ideas.

Thanks
Joe

If it runs fine aside from the idle issue, I would suspect an idle air control valve (IAC) issue. It's an electric motor looking assembly mounted near the throttle plate.

G/luck
