Ok, this weekend i wired up my new alpine head unit to my 1994 jeep grand cherokee limited. When i go to turn it on, the head unit turns on but nothing out of the speakers. I spent a few hours trying various things but nothing. I assume it has something to do with the stock amp for the speakers. (infinity) my question is: what do you do to get it to work with the stock amp? I dont really want to bypass it, but if i have to i will. any suggestions would be much appreciated.

thanks, dan

Did you connect to the amp via speaker outputs, or did you use the pre-amp outs?

DO you think the speakers will sound better if i bypass the stock amp and use the built in amp on the head unit or if i left the stock amp in tact?

It depend on your head unit. But if you do use the stock amp, use the preamp outputs if you have them as the amp isn't intended for speaker wattage.
