need help Engine Stalling Problem

I have a 1996 isuzu Rodeo
and it got Engine Stalling Problem, I take it to the shop to check it out but all come back normal.
the Engine Stalling Problem occur when the gas tank is over full, half tank and close to empty.
so we change the gas filter, gas pressure regulater(it was broken any way) and new air filter, also do a fuel line clean up with oil change and new plugs but still have the same problem.
and a new problem comming up recentenly when the car sit over night and start in the morning cant really start up have to try a few times before it starts. by the mean that the Ignition did start but sounds like I got a dead battery after a few try it goes back to normal..
please help computer check already, but no code found

Re: need help Engine Stalling Problem

how was the fuel regulator bad? Phyiscally broken? Does the engine start normally at other times? Starting is Fuel, spark, Compression.

It seems you've taken care of the fuel system, but what you can try, I'm not sure if you have one, is put the engine in Bypass mode. See if it will start, the instructions would be under the hood.

Re: need help Engine Stalling Problem

Have your ignition module tested if installed in your SUV. I have a 92 Rodeo. My module is inside the distributor housing.

Re: need help Engine Stalling Problem

The 91, 92 V6 rodeo's came with GM engines because the Isuzu power plants were not ready yet, 93 introduced the isuzu v6 which was as I remember the review stated much quieter especially during takeoffs. GM enignes always have the fan at full rotation when first accelerating.

-sorry about my first response, my bad, I missed that you had a 96.

Is ther car moving when it stalls, or Are you moving and when put the brakes on and it stalls, or does it just stall when in idle?

One issue I had was a loose positive to the battery, check the cables, I would also check the negative for ECM just to be sure, unfortuantly I dont know where that is, mine is in back of the throttle body, why I have no idea. but I have a 92 and yours would probably be different!

Re: need help Engine Stalling Problem

Have the mechanic check your asm(air meter system valve connected to your air filter assembly) also check the intake manifold for leaks (might have a gasket leak which would when cold cause bucking & stalling ,rough idle).
The isuzu-rodeo/honda-passport also needs to have port injectors cleaned every 90,000 miles!

Good Luck!
