1997 Lumina dies while driving

My 1997 Lumina dies while I am driving. There are no lights, dash lights, hazard lights and the car acts like the battery has been removed! It has happened twice in the past week. The 1st time, the power came back after 5 minutes and the car ran like normal. The 2nd time, the car sat 30 minutes and the power didn't come back. I had it towed 6 miles to a garage and it started as soon as it was unloaded off the tow truck. I had the battery checked, the key checked, and the battery cables checked. Nothing!! Any help is appreciated.

check for a parasitic load on the battery. also known as a parasitic ground. Maybe the altenator is going bad? my friends Caddy did that to him, sometimes the alt would work, other times not... and it was a northstar... lots of money to fix that in a shop lol...

check your wiring

They probably didn't check the connection at the auxilliary jump start terminal. the positive side goes over to there from the battery, then continues out to the rest of the car. If the connection breaks there, it'll kill everything as you describe.

The connection at the post on the starter should be checked also...
