Re: heater core

1) disconnect neg battery wire

Now do not work on car for at least 90 second from time you disco battery and/ or turn the car off ever if you have an air bag.
2) drain cars cooling system drain plug on bottom of radiator i believe (save for replacement, it's ok as long as it's not contaimenated or like 2 years old)
3) now remove the trim panel under your glove box and remove the glove box (coolant *may* leak on your floorboard so if you care to put something to catch it)
NOW if your car has AC then disco the cooling unit if it doesn't continue
4) disco hoses from the heater core pipes under the hood AND remove grommets from the firewallMUST DO THIS BEFORE YOU CAN REMOVE UNIT (uhh may want to label if you want)
5) Remove the control panel (not hard)
6) remove the center duct attached by screws
7) remove the instrument panel brace ( do not try to skip this and bend it to get the stuff out it Never works right)
8) Now if you do NOT have AC, remove the heater unit extension which is attached by a several screws
9) be sure to disco the resistor block connector before you remove the heater unit and label the contol cabels and electrical connectors and disco them now remove screws and (This is were you may spill coolant be careful) remove heater unit (it has a few hidden screws look around you'll find 'em), sometimes removeing the left side duct can make removal easier
10) NOW you can remove the actual Core from the heater unit it has a clamp and some screws
11) Now with the core out be sure to CLEAN out ANY debris from the unit use your hands or a clean cloth or air compressor or whatever looks like it will work for you. i hope you can figure that out
12) rplace heater core and now Reverse the steps and I HOPE you took the time to label stuff or hahahaha have fun

all in all its not that hard so don't worry you can do it
