Question confirm my thoughts?

i've noticed a hard "clunking" fom the pasenger side front tire when i go around corners and when the body rolls slightly. i haven't noticed it hitting bumps or potholes

my thoughts are that it is a shock gone bad.

what do you think?

please please please don't tell me it's a cv joint gone bad or something

Check ball joints.

Sometimes you just have to crawl under there and look. Could be anything from a loose sway bar link to a dead cat caught between the a-arms.

Re: confirm my thoughts?

hypothetically speaking, if it was the ball joints...do i replace both driver and passenger sides at the same time? alos, how involved will that be...?

is it best left to the pros?

Just replace the side that's making the noise. It's not that difficult to do. There is a post here somewhere that explains how to remove the ball joint (upper anyway).
